The Backstory

Through this experience I discovered my own definition of success. I decided I wanted to make a unique contribution to the world and be financially successful on my own merits rather than being a small component in a large machine at some other jobs.

However, continued financial growth is important to me, so I can responsibly afford to travel and experience as much as possible. For this reason, I made a deal with myself that if I did not make any money online by the end of 2015, I would start freelancing as a programmer. The end of the year came and I hadn’t launched a single product due to a perfectionist mindset. Therefore, this month will have a large freelancing component.

The Goals

Week 1: Wrap-up
Nomad Jacob: Re-organize site, wrap-up unpublished articles, and request guest posts.
Website Purchasing: Wrap up evaluation tool and continue looking.
Freelancing: Look up the best freelancing sites and tools available. Find my niche.

Week 2: Launch and Move Forward
Nomad Jacob: Finish my top five most important posts, request opinions and edit, build initial e-mails for subscribers, and launch.
Website Purchasing: Find ideal criteria to minimize my time commitment while searching.
Freelancing: Review my skills while updating my resume.
General: Update my jacobhanshaw.com website and work on MVP Chess puzzle app for resume.

Week 3: Project Maintenance
Nomad Jacob: Add freelancing article, continue with updates and edits, and ask my audience what articles would interest them most.
Freelancing: Build accounts and apply for jobs.
General: Update my jacobhanshaw.com website and work on MVP Chess puzzle app for resume.

Week 4: Project Building
Nomad Jacob: Start researching and writing articles, consider interviewing and possible formats, and launch Patreon.
Freelancing: Work on any jobs.
General: Continue work on MVP Chess puzzle app. Make progress to follow goal of launching before leaving Thailand in mid-February.
